"A lifelong New Yorker, Harlem has been my home for the past 13 years. It is here that I initially became obsessed with my iPhone camera and began taking photos throughout my eclectic and ever changing neighborhood. I soon discovered (and continue to discover) the endless array of walls around me and have been posting an almost daily photograph on Instagram for the past 8 years. This visual discipline has expanded into combining my images into composites. My work chronicles the many colors, textures and geometry found in Harlem and beyond. I received a BFA in Painting from Rhode Island School of Design. A textile designer and colorist for many years, my designs - most notably a decorative and vibrant pillow collection - have been featured in House Beautiful, Elle Decor, InStyle and The New York Times. My photography demonstrates an eye for color and detail combined with my painterly sensibilities documenting that there can be surprise - not to mention beauty - in the ordinary, the overlooked, even the mundane.”
